POSITION SUMMARY:

The lumber yard associate is the heart of the company and helps achieve objectives by assisting customers, maintaining adequate inventory, and pulling special orders from the yard. When you are not working directly with customers, your duties include helping to load and unload shipments, checking that the yard is clear of obstructions, and making sure that different wood is cataloged correctly and stored in the proper place.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Providing excellent customer service

Pull job packs with designated Odoo “Pick” ticket

Verify product count and accuracy based off “Pick” ticket

Accurately building loads and assisting customers with locating indicated products and loading.

Loading materials onto company delivery vehicles and customer vehicles

Maintaining yard in a clean and orderly condition.

Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma

One-year relevant experience preferred

Ability to read a tape measure

Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles (Forklift, Moffit, etc)

Valid driver’s license, preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift up to 80 lbs

Ability to work in seasonal weather conditions

Summertown Metals of Hopkinsville offers competitive wages contingent upon experience, education, and skills. Starting rate for this role is $16.00/hr.

Position Summary

The Housekeeping team member is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of designated areas within the facility. This role helps create a safe, sanitary, and professional environment for employees, customers, and visitors.

Essential Functions

Clean and maintain offices, restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas

Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and sanitize designated spaces

Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly

Restock paper products, soap, and other facility supplies as needed

Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify supervisor when replenishment is needed

Help maintain an orderly, neat, and presentable environment throughout the facility

Follow company safety procedures and proper cleaning practices

Perform other housekeeping-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment

Dependable and consistent attendance

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical cleaning tasks throughout the shift

Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial experience is helpful, but not required

Position Summary

The delivery driver is responsible for the successful transportation and delivery of materials and goods to designated destinations. The driver is responsible for executing deliveries in the most efficient, safest, and professional way possible.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers.
Obeying and following applicable traffic laws, including use of seat belts and driving the speed limit
Securing loads and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle.
Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Ensuring any mechanical issues are communicated to maintenance.
Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules.
Complying with truck driving rules and regulations.
Reporting defects, accidents, and violations.
Loading and unloading orders at the correct delivery sites.
Interacting with customers in a professional manner.
Performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection reports.
Maintain proper documentation for all deliveries.
Verifying loads for accuracy.
Follow all safety and PPE requirements during unloading stage of delivery.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Valid Class A or B CDL required, Class A preferred

POSITION SUMMARY:

The welder is responsible for assembling pieces of metal to manufacture metal trusses. The central role is setting up, operating, fabricating, and maintaining equipment in metal trusses production. The welder will weld, cut, and braze metal pieces and products by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment according to specifications.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.

Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.

Monitors the welding and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.

Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.

Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.

Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.

Interpret drawings, sketches, models, specifications, work sheets, and related documents.

Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Welding certifications preferred.

Two-year welding experience preferred.

This is an in-office position located in Hopkinsville, KY.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The CAD Technician will use technology to help generate designs for poll barns, homes, and other projects as assigned. These designs may be used to create 2D images and 3D modeling. The CAD Technician must work with other team members and departments to set timelines, budgets, and assist in making decisions regarding materials that will be used to complete customer projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Creates technical drawings and models using software such as Chief Architect and Revit.
Meet and interact with clients to ascertain scope of work and design preferences for homes, shop houses and pole barn structures.
Focuses on creating technical drawings and models based on existing designs, specifications, and instructions provided by engineers, architects, or other specialists.
Create floor plans, 3D overviews, elevations and CAD details using Chief Architect & Revit Software with direction from our sales team, clients, and contractors.
Work on special projects and provide administrative support when needed.
Manage/maintain asset libraries for use in Chief Architect & Revit Software
Work in a team environment and have excellent people skills.
Excellent people skills required to clearly communicate the services and materials provided by our company to clients.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Residential/Agricultural construction experience (hands-on or design, 2+ years preferred).
Hi level of computer use including Office 365 software.
Use of Chief Architect Design Software (Preferred), Revit, or similar Professional Creative software such as AutoCad, Photoshop, SketchUP, 3D software etc… On the job training for the right fit.
Bachelor’s degree in architectural or design field preferred but not required.

Position Summary

The Project Coordinator serves as a critical link between customers, vendors, and internal teams — ensuring projects are delivered smoothly, on time, and with the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule all concrete projects, from planning through completion.
Manage vendor relationships, including order placement and tracking deliveries.
Write and process sales orders and purchase orders.
Review ERP system daily; identify and resolve outstanding invoices.
Take customer calls, review contracts and floorplans, and calculate required concrete for project completion.
Oversee project budgets, timelines, and documentation.
Maintain thorough records and communication across all project phases.

Qualifications

Concrete or construction industry experience strongly preferred
Strong project coordination and organizational skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Proficiency in ERP systems or willingness to learn quickly
Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and problem-solve effectively

Schedule & Compensation

Typical hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
